JAZZ + JAZZ + YOU = COOL JAZZ

Thank you to everyone who joined us for Cool Jazz on March 9th! We had a ton of fun and hope you did, too.

We also want to send a huge thank you to our sponsors: Adult Swim Games, Iron Galaxy, Cards Against Humanity, I Play Games, and Chicago Loot Drop.

We wouldn’t have been able to drink, dance, and play games with over 400 of our closest friends without all of you. Check out some photos from the event:

International Games Day at the Harold Washington Library

We love a good book. That’s why we’re celebrating International Games Day with video games at the library on Saturday instead of reading (makes total sense, right?). We’ll be there with some of our favorite games: Omnibus, Aerobat, Become a Great Artist in 10 Seconds, and Downwell all day from 10AM — 4PM.

Come hang out with us and check out some fun alternative games while checking out a book!

Miss us? Come hang at Neocade

Itching to play some games? Come support the Neo-Futurists next week at Neocade. We’ll be there with these games for your finger appendages: Gardenarium, Shape of the World, JS Joust, Elbow Room, Fotonica, and Chambara. Our buddies VGA Gallery will be bringing corresponding art prints for purchase, too.

When: November 12th at 7:00 PM
What: A night of booze, pizza, indie games, art, prizes and a performance to boot.
Why: The Neo-Futurists are hosting their fall fundraiser to support on-going theatrical programs.
How: Tickets are $40 for general admission.

A Very Special Thanks to Our Partners

We were lucky enough to make Bit Bash happen in collaboration with Video Game Art Gallery, facilitators of Art Bash, and Cards Against Humanity, who brought you the super chill Quiet Sit Down Fun Lounge of tabletop games.

We’re stoked that 1400 of our closest friends joined us for Bit Bash. We had a blast, and we hope you did, too.

Help us out by taking a less-than-5-minute survey so we can be even better.

Of course, I have lots of opinions about Bit Bash

We knew we could count on you.

First, we gotta thank our super rad volunteers

Thank you to all of you who came to our playtest parties, showed up early, stayed late, cleaned up trash and bathrooms, and worked outside their shift to fill gaps. Thank you to everyone who helped our attendees have the best experience. Everyone is totally grateful for you and your hard work.

We also really want to thank all our sponsors and event partners,
like, a WHOLE BUNCH.

Thanks to Threadless for providing the space; thanks to PlayStation and Alienware for providing the supplies; thanks to HiveSymGymWargamingCGCookie, and Chicago Loot Drop for providing the support; thanks to IPlayGames and SteelSeries for the tech; and of course, to Dark Matter Coffee and Arcade Brewery for the drinks.

Geez, that’s a ton of people.

Now that all our thank you notes are written, check out awesome photos!
All by the talented Brent Knepper (we’re thankful for him, too).

2015 Poster Showcase Entries

We opened submissions for our second Art Bash Poster Showcase to artists and designers back in July. Our guest jury selected designs that best embraced the theme Video Game Future while incorporating risograph production techniques.

Here are the five selections for 2015, available for purchase:

All proceeds go to the artists. Some pieces may be purchased online direct from them, as well. We sincerely appreciate all of the the time and energy spent to create something for our showcase. Check out all the rad work!

A million thanks to all participating artists, guest jury, and VGA Gallery for making this happen. Like to participate in the Poster Showcase next year? Subscribe to Bit Bash email updates.

We might have gone a little overboard

Omnibus is in a half pipe. We built a custom controller for Downwell. Intense rhythm game Thumper will be in our sensory deprivation Airstream, for some reason. Not to mention our super special 18+ area, because who doesn’t like laughing at naughty bits? Your friends will be so sad if they’re not already going.
